Summer of 2008:
Wind turbine construction workshop for Palestinians from all over the west bank
We gave a "hands on" workshop on how to build a wind turbine for a group of 10 Palestinians from across the west bank, and had a working machine by the end of the week!
Wind turbine construction workshop was held in Sakhnin on the week starting on the 24th of
August 2008 and concentrated on the technicalities of wind power generating equipment building
and maintenance. The course was based on the home-brew wind turbine
designs of Hugh Piggot and
Other Power. Integral to the course is
the planning and execution
of projects by the participants, including supervision and limited funding. The course was held
in co-operation with TAEQ (Towns Association for Environmental Quality - Agan beit
Natufa) and the CED (Centre for Environmental Diplomacy).
